Learning Outside the Classroom

Some of our Year 8 pupils are lucky enough to work with Incredible Edible Wakefield at our school allotment each week.

Incredible Edible is an innovative local food initiative that helps people to enjoy the many benefits that come from learning to grow your own food. We are taking part in their Learning Outside the Classroom initiative – developing our school allotment and at the same time teaching our pupils some forest school and food growing skills.

Our pupils gathered fruit, displayed their new secateurs skills and also built shelters. All enjoyed the activities out in the open judging by their huge grins!
