Kettlethorpe destroy De Lacy in the first round of the competition

Kettlethorpe, after a long losing streak, come out with an impressive victory over De Lacy.

Eight minutes into play De Lacy get a goal with an unlucky rebound for Kettlethorpe.  However, 3 minutes later, Lemar scored a very powerful shot, making the game tied 1-1.   On a roll, Kettlethorpe score again 3 minutes later, Sam chipping the goalie as he rushes out to stop the ball.  On the brink of half time, Kettlethorpe won a penalty and Alfie converted it beautifully to make it 3-1 to Kettlethorpe at the break.

At Half Time Mr Leighton encouraged the team and said they deserved the win if they got it.

As play resumed, in the 2nd minute Kettlethorpe won another penalty; De Lacy seemed to be losing their heads.  Unfortunately, Alfie who scored the first penalty, missed this one.  Not down about his miss, Alfie goes on to score 3 minutes later, bringing the score to 4-1.  De Lacy, who seemed to be out of the game, managed to convert another goal for their hopes of a comeback, but in the 43rd minute Lemar scores his second goal of the night, crushing De Lacy’s chances.  In the dying moments of the game, Lemar, desperate for his hat trick, puts the rebound of a good shot from Alfie into the back of the net finishing the game 6-2 to Kettlethorpe.

Eddie was named Man of the Match for his tireless efforts and creating many chances for his teammates. He told us that ‘the team performed well and their efforts have been shown in the result’. He also praised Alfie and Lemar for their great goals and contribution to the game.
