Admissions to Kettlethorpe High School are controlled by Wakefield Local Authority (the LA). ‘The Guide for Parents’ gives the full details of the policy and is available from the LA Education Department. Please contact the Admissions Team at the LA for advice on all aspects of admissions to the schools in the area including the appeals.

At Kettlethorpe approximately 350 students enters Year 7 each September. The annual admissions limit is set by the LA after consultation with the Governing Body of the school.

In recent years we have received applications from Kirklees, Leeds and Barnsley pupils (all of these are classed as “out of area”). We have allocated places to ALL applicants from these areas. We are NEVER full.
