Key Stage 4
Geography is a popular and successful GCSE subject at Kettlethorpe. We follow the AQA GCSE Geography (8035) syllabus.
The full exam specification can be found at www.aqa.org.uk.
This exciting course is based on a balanced framework of physical and human geography. It allows pupils to investigate the link between the two themes, and approach and examine the battles between the man-made and natural worlds. Pupils who complete the course will have the skills and experience to progress onto A-level and beyond, and we’ve developed a range of resources to accompany the specification.
This qualification is linear which means that pupils will sit all their exams at the end of the course.
Living with the physical environment – The challenge of natural hazards; The living world; Physical landscapes in the UK
Challenges in the human environment – Urban issues and challenges; The changing economic world; The challenge of resource management
Geographical applications – Issue evaluation; Fieldwork
Progress is assessed at regular intervals to ensure pupils remain on target and regular revision and support programmes are in place.
