Instrumental Lessons

Pupils in school have access to instrumental and vocal tuition in addition to their curriculum lessons. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of teachers from Wakefield Music Service who visit school each week to deliver lessons on the following instruments:

Voice
Piano
Guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass)
Strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
Woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon)
Brass (trumpet, cornet, horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, tuba)
Drum Kit

Starting Lessons
In order to begin instrumental/vocal lessons, pupils need to collect an application form from the music office. This should be completed at home and returned to Mr Griffiths in the music office.
Where possible, pupils will begin learning at the start of the next half-term. Where this is not possible, because a teacher’s timetable is already at full capacity, pupils will be added to a waiting list. They will then begin lessons as soon as a place becomes available.

Pupils are notified in school of their first lesson. At this session they will be introduced to the teacher and information will be given about any equipment (e.g. drumsticks or music books) that are required.

The music service can loan most instruments, except for piano and drum kit. This is a good option until you can purchase your own instrument once pupil’s interest and commitment has been established.

The annual fees for 2023-2024, per instrument are indicated below. Tuition will begin, where available, at the start of the next half-term.
