Helping wildlife
Over the past two years, James, Harvey, Reece and Orestas (current Year 11 pupils) together with Mr Page have been carrying out conservation work on the nearby Owler Beck. Helped by staff from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, they have been clearing the section of the beck near the school and have replanted its banks with various native plants. Now, a special plaque, highlighting their fantastic efforts, has been erected near the bridge leading to Kettlethorpe Lake.
As a result of the excellent relationship built up with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust whilst working on the stream, Reece has also been given a commission to produce detailed wildlife drawings for the Trust. Looking forward to seeing these!
