Leeds Festival of Science
Some of our Year 8 pupils took part in the Leeds Festival of Science roadshow during their maths lesson. They looked at how the maths skills they are developing are used in the real world in various professions.
Pupils found out what the ‘Cobb angle’ is and explored how to measure it to understand scoliotic curve severity from spinal x-rays and analyse results for orthopaedic healthcare applications/professionals. This was certainly a maths lesson with a difference!
Huge thanks go to Leeds University STEM team for organising and delivering this event.
