Wakefield College sent out entry forms for KS3 students (in pairs) to submit a 3 course menu to fit an outline that the college stipulated.

Isla and Melissa submitted their entry and were successful in getting through to the final.

Jamie B and Chloe N also entered, they were not successful however did receive a £10 high street voucher for their entry.

Other local schools, including Ossett, Minsthorpe, St Thomas A Beckett were in the final.  Isla and Melissa were given their own work station in the professional kitchen along with a Year 13 student who they could call on for help. The judges had difficulty choosing the winners and there was only 6 points in all the finalists. They said that some of the dishes contained some high level skill that he teaches at college to Level 3 students.

Overall, an amazing experience for our Hospitality & Catering students to see first hand how a professional kitchen operates.
