Oracy Day 2023

We held our annual oracy day yesterday (July 4) around the theme of kindness!

Some pupils were invited to an audience with the Deputy Mayor to discuss our new kindness charter with him and what it is like to be in the role of deputy mayor. Pupils in lessons put down their pens and pencils and had discussions and used spoken word to learn.

Well done to the winners of poetry reading competition Ms Clarke’s Spanish and French groups – Megan C, Ben B, Ava C, well done you three! The Year 9 GCSE Dance pupils were blindfolded and had to develop their communication and listening skills to ensure their partner made their way round the obstacle course safely. They all successfully directed their partner. Well done Year 9! In PE the fancy dress theme for staff was sports people, in lessons they spoke about sportsmanship and how you show kindness during sport.

Please take a look at the gallery below of our day which included staff getting involved in the fun of the day (some in fancy dress!)
