Kettlethorpe High School Celebrates Its Pupils’ GCSE and Vocational Results

Kettlethorpe High School proudly celebrates the positive achievements of its pupils as they receive their GCSE and vocational examination results.
This year’s cohort, who began their education during the COVID-19 pandemic, have marked a proud moment for both the school and the wider community.
Starting their journey amid lockdowns and remote learning, these students faced unprecedented challenges. Yet, their determination and hard work have led to impressive academic success.
An impressive 80% of students were entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc), well above the national average of 40%. This reflects the school’s commitment to a broad, ambitious curriculum in line with our mission: “Together, be the best we can be.” The cohort also celebrated 131 Grade 9s and Distinction*s across a wide range of subjects.
As they move on to further education, apprenticeships, and beyond, these pupils carry with them not just excellent results but the resilience and confidence to overcome any challenge – embodying the values of our school.
This year’s results were marked by exceptional individual achievements. Leah B stood out with some of the highest grades in the entire cohort, a testament to her hard work and determination. Meanwhile a fantastic success story of Simon and Timothy T, twin brothers with a shared drive for success, both achieved outstanding results. Their next chapter begins at Barnsley College, where they’ll continue their studies and build on their impressive achievements.
Headteacher, Roisin Paul, commented “I am exceptionally proud of all the hard work of our pupils and staff in achieving these results. I am also very grateful to the parents and carers, and the primary school teachers who have supported them along their educational journey. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.”
