Year 10 STEM Workshop

On Friday 28 April, a class of Year 10 DT pupils were invited to take part in a workshop ran by a PhD student from the University of Leeds. The workshop was based on Medical Engineering.

Pupils were asked to get into groups to create two surgical instruments to perform different tasks; the first task was to pick up objects and the second was to clean up debris from a surgical site. Pupils had to be cost effective and make sure to not go over budget, great life lessons for the future! Below are some photographs of the processes and the final tests, we hope all pupils enjoyed the workshop and found new transferrable skills.
